Binge Drinking is becoming more than just a problem at some popular colleges, it is becoming an epidemic.  It is almost ingrained into the culture of the school, where if you do not take part, you do not feel as though you are part of the college.

Binge Drinking began with a reputation that plagued the frat houses, known for wild all night drunken binges; however this unfortunate display of “School Spirit” has led to the demise of many high profile colleges.

Each year it seems you hear an unfortunate story of some college students fatally falling victim to an alcohol overdose.  It seems like such a waste of a life, someone who had their entire life ahead of them, thought that the only way they could fit in is to conform to the binge drinking lifestyle.

Drug Rehab

In 1998 a study was conducted at Harvard University, the study found that 42.7% of students who were surveyed had admitted to binge drinking two weeks before the survey.

Much more than that another Harvard Study Indicated that the average student will spend more on alcohol than they do on books.

Studies show that alcohol is a result of 40% of academic issues and 28% of all drop outs.

Fortunately for students there is help, drug and alcohol rehab facilities exist all across the country and most major universities have on-site drug and alcohol counseling.  Drug Rehab and Alcohol rehab are a crucial step to getting out of this addictive lifestyle.  It is important to give them proper consideration, before it is too late.
